Grenoble - The capital of the Alps
After 3 years of living in this crowded and filthy city (Bucharest) I can say that I had my share of pollution, extreme stress and unbelievable rudeness. I’m not pessimistic, not in this sense anyway, but now I sincerely miss my little mountain town.
And speaking of mountainous towns, I have to share with you some information about Grenoble, which seems to me the perfect place to live.
Grenoble is a city located in south-east France, at the foot of the Alps. It is surrounded by mountains: Chartreuse, Vercors and Belledonne range. The city was built on the alluvial plain of the Rivere Isere, at an altitude of 214 meters.
The landscape is amazing, the architectures, the buildings, the forests, all offer the inhabitants the honor of living in a natural and healthy environment.
Some random things about Grenoble that you might not know:
- it’s famous for its walnuts;
- Grenoble hosted the 1968 Winter Olympics;
- it is very well known for the various ski resorts nearby and for its Italian quarter, “Quartier Saint Laurent”;
- it was the birthplace of Stendhal;
- it’s famous for manufacturing of gloves.
I’m so looking forward to visiting it!
Cheers!

Grenoble sure is lovely. It's the first time I've heard of it though.
